pLAy Day
MAY
In celebration of AANHPI month, Terasaki Budokan hosts pLAy Day to provide free, accessible, and inclusive play for all ages to explore sports, movement, and mental health. It’s a passport-style event, so attendees are encouraged to try all of the activities!
pLAy Day seeks to fulfill Budokan’s mission of providing a community space to serve youth, families, and seniors as they come together for intergenerational activities to create meaningful memories. At this event, everyone can gain exposure to new sports and activities that are not typically accessible or inclusive to them.
pLAy Day also partners with trained mental health organizations to teach the importance of healthy play and coaching- something that is often neglected and ignored in sports spaces.
400+ attendees, 10 event partners, activities + vendors in the gym + plaza
Past sports partners include: Angel City FC, LA Clippers, LA Dodgers, LA Kings, Little Tokyo Run Club, Little Tokyo Table Tennis
